Similar to other countries in MENA region, Yemen is classified as a low prevalence country with an estimated HIV prevalence among the general population of 0.14 – 0.2% (WHO/UNAIDS Working Group Estimation, 2007). Although the overall prevalence is low, higher prevalence of HIV is anticipated in most at risk sub-populations (FSW & MSM). the true extent of the epidemic is not yet clearly known. HIV is believed to be higher among populations at higher risk of exposure such as sex workers and men who have sex with men. HIV estimates among other data are essentially based on studies among these key populations. Though HIV is not widespread in the general population, there are important groups that form a vital link between the populations at high risk of exposure and the general population. These bridging populations such as clients of sex workers, bisexual men and migrating populations could pass the infection to their spouses or other sexual partners and thus responsible of spreading it to the rest of the population , For that a number of NGOS have started during the last 10 years to support the PLWHIV and work closely with them to increase the health awareness and defend their rights . The main NGO which is considered to be highly interested in PLWHIV is AID Association
